Images 3 & 4 above (post 495) British No 106 Fuze Mk III the 'S' denotes an all steel hammer and the 'D' denotes a disc above the detonator.

Thanks, but I should have been more specific. He is referring to 87961 on 9 Feb, I am asking about photo 88024 on 10 Feb, the shrapnel. I was wondering if it may be a US 4.7-inch but have not had any time to do a search.

There is very faint stenciling on the shell. The bottom line appears to have the letters ' ERM ' which I assume to be 'German'. This seems to be in line with some of the other items that have a description and nationality stenciled on them.

In regard to the case, I do not know, but it certainly looks correct. What is the document?
