German Zeiss 1930 ish binoculars not seen this shield before ,,any ideas ? John

I think it's a coat of arms. But it was used by Hungary and Slovakia (which wasn't an independend country in the 1930's). Any other markings on it?
 
thanks for the reply on the opposite side 17 lozenge? 22 and unusual font on front plate see 2 pics

If you don't find an answer you may try here: https://www.fernglasmuseum.at/. This Guy seems to have access to the "Zeiss Kontorbücher" (production lists) which mentions an order for each serial number range.

The symbol on the right side may also be the solution but I can't recognize it on your picture. I think it once had the same white lines like on the left side.
