torpedo gyroscope

Looks like a sovjet piece (probably orignating from East-German inventory, given the seller).

As a long time torpedo gyroscope collector, I have never seen this example before. Absolutely beautiful and a work of engineering industrial art. Really nice, thanks for sharing.

Jason
PS: Does anyone know how much he is asking for it in US $

That's why I placed the posting over here Jason, so someone intetested could buy it. I do not think it will give much trouble importing it into the usa, as long as you state it is a ship's compas gyroscope

It's a beautiful specimen. How much is the cost converted to US $? One I have not seen before with some really interesting designs. I saved all of his pictures.

That is approximately 930 dollar
Thank you so much, Pal!

I think I will passion it as I am saving money for my new obsession, 30mm GAU-8 ammunition. I have another torpedo collector friend that I will show this to.

The gyro has parts which match that of the pattern running 53-39PM gyro. However the stamp 080 suggests and earlier weapon as 53-39 article number was 112. As the 53-38 article number was 100 it probably predates that. The picture is of a gyro from the later 53-56 also has similarities, although it shows a number of manufacturing simplifications which probably reduced the number of man hours needed to produce it.
