SOE display

What an awesome display. Learned a few things for sure. The Rat and Railway items were fantastic.

thanks,i used a real piece of rail track and real ballast,i had to reinforce the table, didnt want to come in the next day and find it all on the floor!

As someone who also loves nerding out making displays, I give you extreme points on the creativity making this one. The track section makes it. Its awesome

A friend made up a section of rail in wood, painted to look metallic - much lighter! I do like the idea of showing the ballast as well.

The rat is a great display. Even the cheese is revealing! I like the early time pencils. Nice train derailment display. I have one very similar as part of a British special forces table display I did at a big military vehicle show here in California. Mine separates the two types of switches. Fog signal going to two charges on one side, No. 5 switch method with two charges on the back of the other rail. People can walk around to see that. The four charges are all different: bundle of 808 cartridges, TNT block, bundle of Gelignite, and a wrapped, made-up charge. I put little signs saying the distances apart these things were supposed to be. Kind of busy, but educational. I'll bring it all out again in two weeks at a show we call Camp Plymouth. And my SAS desert jeep. All inert "explosives" of course!

It is one thing to show photos but putting items in front of people makes it much more interesting and educational.

Well done!

the rat didnt suffer but my wallet did!rat came all the way from UK, as easily the best one i found, all the others were novelty type and looked silly

A very nice display!!! I love the railway mock-up with the ballast. I've also been wanting to make an explosive rat display for my SOE collection, but have not had any luck finding a source for a skinned and preserved rat yet.

Are the Nobel's 808 and P.E. No.2 wrappers all original? If so, you are very fortunate to have so many nice examples.

The C.E. Barnes items are fantastic. The ultimate artifacts to own. Congratulations!

Thanks for sharing your pictures!

thanks,i really enjoyed doing the display.a taxidermist would probably do a rat for you.all the 808 and PE4 are replicas(i like replicas to be good, everybody asked if the welrod is real,no its 3D printed)

the CE BARNES items were loaned to me by his daughter(she has a massive collection of his items)
