She’ll case ID

An interesting case. It is a 3.7" AA case (94 x 675R x 135 rim usually) that has been shortened for some reason.
Your dimension of 116mm case mouth seems correct for the outside of a cut-off case at 278mm high. Usually we measure the inside of the case mouth.
All 3.7" cases I have seen are WW2 dates to 1944, never seen one from 1952 or 1959.
The case seems to be officially shortened and the numbers may indicate a stock or store number? I do not know.
The RAF 42 in a circle stamp is also unusual. No 9 primer is 1960 so1 year later than the case stamp.

To mention odd cases, I have a 4.5" Mk3-5 Guns case cut-off to 103mm long and stamped for gauge testing protrusion of needle 119361 etc. and I have a drawing of a 40mm Bofors 56mm steel gauge for testing blow of striker & eccentricity . Also a 6Pr gun test squid with ST No 10318 that is 76mm long with a dummy primer plug.

I cannot help more so wait for the expert opinions as to the use of this case.

Thanks for info. Assuming it must have been fired in this shortened format, and with a very differently sized projectile.
