Sorry so few pics lately. Been sick for several weeks, passed it off as normal winter stuff till I finally gave up and went to the doctor. On antibiotics now so feeling much more energetic, will try and get some photos out a bit more regularly.
we have already seen other 37/54 round posted by US-Subs, this is a variant, with the blu stripe that means anti aircraft ammunition, but not used in 37/54 shells.
here the standard color code as described in manuals, grey green with red stripe under the fuze.
In the last 37/54 you are referring too, color code is not standard, certainly italian BPD made. Italian HE shells with white band means high capacity, so could it be a mine shell? Never heard before... but I'm always ready to learn. Again the red ogive it's too large for the standard......
original paint??
maybe US-Subs could provide for other pics please?
...the color is very strange...the white band, in standard italian color code, means high capacity, only if correctly applied upper of rotating band...but on middle body? Anti-tank?
Withal, the red on the ogive is too large (standard coloured band on large bore ammo is 8cm, on medium bore 4cm, on small bore 2cm).
I agree with Fert.
Best regards
I just love the 37mm Davy Crockett round I've been after a projectile for ages.
Does it use the same fuze as the 20mm version?
Thanks for posting the photos.
Dave.
