Purportedly a WW1 Canadian practice bomb ~

All wooden, of local manufacture. Possibly would have a metal nose or weight ?
Some scratched in intials of some sort in the nose recess.
I have inquired of the Base Borden Museum as they so I'm told have an example ?
A winner or a loser on this - I have no idea at this point as this was a type I had no
knowlege of before yesterday and I'm certainly unsure ~
In it's favour is that there isn't much else it could be to my thinking.
The real age of it of course another question.

Looks more like a juggling pin...
 
This is odd, looks like the same or similar but painted, photo listed as ;

Military Grenade Launcher M19 60mm Stock Photo

which makes no scence at all Looking at the object, which is obviously not ww1.
Thinking mortars I measured the body; 3 7/16" or 87mm , this doesn't seem helpful either ?
