Possible M1A1 Tank Firing Pin Assembly - Need Help To ID

I could not resist adding this to my collection because it, "MAY" be tank ammunition related and has a cool factor I dig. I was told it is the firing pin from a US M1A1 Abrams tank and that it was brought back by a Desert Storm Vet/Hero. I have another firing pin from what I was told came from the M1 Abrams and it looks a lot different so I am not really sure what I have here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dont nut know if it helps at all, but here is a pic of (supposedly) a firing pin from the original 105mm L7 cannon.

Thats Awesome!

Thank you! This photo shows the same looking firing pin as the other one I have in my collection that I was told came from the M1 Abrams. Now I gotta go see if I can find pics.

Thank you, BIG TIME, MissingSomething!

Super grateful for your confirmation that this does indeed belong to the M1A1 and A2 MBT's! No clue how you tracked down the ASSY#, but I am thankful for your help. Much appreciated!

THANKS!

Here are photos of my other firing pin that I was told went to the M1 Abrams MBT that, Rhys confirmed as belonging to the German L7 cannon designated as the M68 Gun on US M1 tanks.

That is an interesting find. I would have never thought about taking a firing pin out of a tank.

Thanks for sharing.
