Yesterday I visited the Dutch National Military museum (Nationaal Militair museum) in Soesterberg (Netherlands). This quite new museum houses the national collection of any type of weapon and military stuff used by the Dutch army from the Roman times up untill today.
It is housed on the closed Soesterberg Air base which housed the US 32 Wolfhounds Squadron, so some US planes can be also seen here too, the nicest one being a F15 Eagle.
The museum also has some very unique pieces, of which I think the Donier waterplane from the dutch colonal forces is the nicest piece.
The museum has a good restaurant and is very child friendly, with lots of activities for children organized throughout the day.
I think the museum is well worth a visit if you visit the netherlands
Regards DJH
