Thanks for all you coments and interest. NickW, I also would have been troubled, but to each his own. I always feel bad when I see sporterized military firearms at gun shows. I prefer them to be original. I understand both the one who wants the items to be as the military had them, but also appriciate the conversion to a more useful item especially if done by the soldier as a souvenir. As I was putting this show together, I discovered that one of my US 81mm mortar bombs had once been a lamp, I had not looked at it very closely.
