It is quite possible that a box manufactured in 1945 could still be found in service today. Even during WW2 there was a military concept of a standardised series of boxes and packaging that could be used for any number of the thousands of items in the military inventory. So by way of example your G70 could have been used from new to house No.36m Grenades. It may have remained in a depot for say 10 years until the grenades were issued. The unit that fired the grenades would return the box into the empties system from where it may have been refurbished and either sent to a manufacturer for re-use with a totally different type of munition or it may have been used within a depot for repackaging purposes.
Eventually boxes will become surplus to requirement or will fail inspection and will be disposed of.
There is nothing (to my knowledge) that sets a 1945 box apart from any other one. I hope that this helps.
