German S.Mi.35 & 44 manufacturers

A new thread started on different German S.Mi.35 & 44 manufacturers. Here's a picture of my S-Mine with saw manufacture markings.

Undoubtedly "axt 94 44", really incredible.
Just to remind: axt = Gustav Hausen, Sgewerk und Holzbearbeitungsfabriken (sawmill & woodworking factory), Knigsberg/East Prussia !

First I'll add some elder 35er-vintages:

the very early and genuine "RR 1938 36" = Richard Rinker GmbH, Menden/Iserlohn.

"F.W.& Co.1938 40" = Fritz Weber & Co., Laternenfabrik (lantern factory!), Berlin.
Quite a busy company, also manufacturing the aluminum transport-rack for 2 T.Mi.35, Sprengbchse 24 (1kg-demolition charge) for example; subsequent products were marked "157" and "brc" respectively.

"B 218 1938 8" = Benteler Werke AG, Bielefeld (courtesy Dr.Ruby).

another "F.W.& Co.", but the highly rare vintage 1939 (courtesy Reino).

At this spot I would have liked to upload a "bre 40 / 154", but it was impossible due to its silly size of 9.5MB.

"bre 41 / 6" = "Rhenania" Vereinigte Stanz- und Emaillierwerke AG, Schwelm.

Finally a very late, most late I've ever seen, example:

"45 dah" = Junkers & Co.GmbH, Fabrik wrmetechnischer Gerte, Dessau, highly rare.

The picture below stubbornly resists to be inserted properly in the row :tinysmile_shy_t:;
a "P 279 1940 23" = Ruhrstahl AG Presswerk Brackwede, Bielefeld-Brackwede.

Originally this thread intended to see varieties of more or less common S.Mi.-top plates with their different manufacturers; the attempt of a summary. :tinysmile_grin_t:

Unfortunately theres quite an unsatisfactory response yet. :tinysmile_cry_t:
So its me again to add some more.

For unknown reasons a considerable number of S.Mi.35 where reconditioned during their life.
Perhaps some have been cleared from the old Westwall after the western campaign in 1940 for example, but not sure about that.
The reprocessing factories each added their own identification mark and crossed the primary sign.

Diligent in this area was Schaltbau GmbH, Elektrotechnische Artikel, Munich / brh who refurbished these three oldies in 1942/43:



157 1940 68 (the famous Fritz Weber & Co. Laternenfabrik, Berlin / also FW & Co. & brc),



M & C 40 (unknown yet) and



RR 336 1940 (another true Richard Rinker-mark of their main factory in Menden/Iserlohn).


The Stanz- und Emaillierwerke (former Carl Thiel & Sons AG), Lbeck / bqu, reconditioned this unreadable mid-war example in 1944:

Peter i have a feeling that the star marking seen on these mines may mean a reconditioned mine. Before i thought that it was a marking for use in winter conditions.

Hello, I would like to add a few signs smi35 from my collection. 180brc44, 212brc44, avz4-23, avz4-30, 44brb 137

Found this plate with correct seal missing on so many S-Mines, similar to sticky petroleum tape. Anyone have any s-mines with a similar seal.

I have similar on one of my s-mines its like a waxy grease that is smeared on to seal it. i assume it was reapplied after it was made inert. Pics in a sec.

Here are the units in my collection & their markings.
I can not make out any markings on my S.Mi.35 other than the illegible white ink stamp.

It seems that there are variants of sealing methods to water proof these mines, one of the biggest contributor to failure, moisture affecting the black powder ignition of the mine. The S-mine44 is crimped on the edge around the top.

Hi here is a nice clear makers mark on one I have.

The one I have for the database of sorts... The pan underneath for the BP charge is also coated with that waterproofing stuff. Makes it a mess to take apart.

I would like to add my S.Mi.35 and S.Mi.35 accessories box.

The S.Mi.35 is stamped with '44 dah' and regarding an earlier post this one is manufactured by Junkers & Co.GmbH.

I couldn’t find a manufacturer code for this so you have reassured me
