I just obtained these, while not a primary collection subject for me these were just too good to pass up.
For once a bit more Art than not, rather "arts & Crafts" in feel. I am quite sure these were made in early 1917
to a special order. As there are no actions mentioned for 1917 and the casings predate 1916 and are German as allied casing were being recycled.
The high level of bronzed finish and hand work indicate a better than average workmanship and artistry.
