AndyD made a good point about the tracer projectile mounted in a 37x94R case.
Is this projectile only for the Sockelflak or can it be mounted in the 94mm case?
If you line the cannelur of the projectile with the crimp of the 94mm case you get the correct length of round (see picture). It means theres a gap of some 7mm between case month and driving band.
Is this correct? I've seen pictures in the Carlin articles with projectiles mounted in this way.
Have any other members got rounds they would like to post pictures off?
Are you saying it is a Sockelflak proj in a 37x94R case? I have never had much success with online auctions, the prices always go too high or i get sniped. Getting sniped is by far the most annoying. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
You are better off getting back to the fairs in all honesty mate.
i cant help you much on this particular ID im afraid.
Some of the other boys will be back on after tea.
Waff, I have been to Beltring a couple of times, I may get one there, but finding loose projectiles seems to be a pain, as you mostly see only complete rounds for sale.
Proper positioning of German 37mm Tracer projectiles. If you match up the casing crimp indent with the groove in the projectile you can't go wrong. I have never seen an explosive projectile that had the higher band position for the 37x101 case.
In theory the 37x101 cases should function in the Maxim
and revolving Cannon, but slight rim size difference so Im not sure about this.
This cartridge, lenght case extend 7mm,(in 1917) is only make for maxims-gun by any small modifications (lenght chamber,extractor...)
The lenght complete of munition don't change.
On the other hand, the rate of fire is highly.

Hi all,
Has anyone got a drawing showing the internal construction of the tracer projectile for the Sockelflak, please? And what was the tracer composition? Not phosphorus, I assume.
