ZZ.35 and Box

This is a new area that I have been collecting in. I got interested in the ZZ.35 after I learned more about the T.Mi.42 and I must not forget my good friend Peter who has been invaluable in teaching me most I know about pioneer items.

The pictures show the ZZ.35 fuze and the container they came in. They could be attached to the T.Mi. det. wells and other items. The container is in amazing mint condition with all the labels intact and a date stamp on the outside of the tin.

Nice pieces, Paul, this might be the beginning of a wonderful fuze box-collection!

"eap 41" ("Phnix" Nhmaschinen AG, Br & Rempel, Bielefeld) is a quite rare manufacturer; now you need a RR 507-marked igniter, because every box should contain at least one piece of it's original content, I think.

That's a Josef Mellert-box, together with an earlier "RR 985-40"-marked example and the later "bzh 41" version.

btw. "RR 507" is one of the few yet unexplained early manufacturers!?

Thank you Peter for adding all the extra information. It is has been very helpful. A RR 507 igniter would be excellent so any offers are very welcome.
Also has anyone got a complete box to add a few pictures?

The box is stamped with a different mark. It is the same as on the Zu.ZZ.35 picture I have added. What is the meaning of this stamp?

That reversed R - normal R is Richard Ringer, Menden which the WaA 65 also confirms. I don't know how the process went, but box and paper label are from 2 different manufacturers. Did they ink stamp WaA on the metal box already at box maker, or first after filling it and before putting the seal tape on?
I don't think the box was re-used as year stamps are the same. These fuzes are rather defensive items than offensive and in 1939 they most likely were not used that much yet?

As Peter says RR 507 is unidentified, as well as WaA 540 related to it.

Paul, If you start to collect and study these things you'll be in a never ending story:bigsmile:
