During the war, India was under British governorate.
The documents that you have were probably copied from British civil defense documents !
Those docs let you know what you must do if you encounter a German land mine. That's all !
Have you documents about the use of these mines on India territory ?
I have seen all sorts of manuals printed in India, direct copies of Uk issue, here is just one example from my own collection.
These two manuals are identical in content but one is printed in India and one in the UK. The Indian examples are usually of poorer printing quality.
Both manuals contain reference to German bomb fuzes and indeed the SD2 butterfly bomb, not to my knowledge ever used in India, however knowledge of such items was paramount for overseas service.
yes I think your all correct, the indian government probably assumed the germans would get there and were taking preventative measures, using british documents.
Whilst working on the clearance of Japanese Bomb dumps in Penang between 1967 & 71 we came across numerous item that the Germans supplied to the Japs ( Submarine net Mines / Torpedo's & Aircraft bombs) they were in exchange for Tin / Rubber & Oil, even the Japanese "Cheer Blossom " air dropped piloted bomb(Japanese Suicide Rocket Bomb Plane) Hope this was of some help more footage of this flying bomb can be found on youtube REgards John
