Hi Paul
Nice mines those , ive had some over the years with a makers intials in the well where the 200 gramme explosive block goes., but most were mnever marked, the hardest thing to obtain is the igniter.

Steve

Hi Waff,

I am sure that you must have a copy of this manual ? not my field but I have taken a couple of pics as no scanner at this location. Hope they help, Tony.

The heavy piece of glass (weight ) is often shown resting on two pieces of dowel which go through the molded grooves and rest on the edges of the main body of the mine,This prevents the weight breaking the thin glass plate when pressure is applied, thus preventing the mine from been accidently detonated when laying.I have found reference to this safety feature also been done with a metal two pronged fork

Lovely mines waff, I have been told that glass mines were first used about April 44, There was a schuko igniter on ebay for sale a few days ago going for about 35 as a buy it now option, was on there a while, not sure if it would come up again, i did buy the metal plate he had for sale. Belting's coming up soon so there should be some goodies turning up soon like schuko igniters. The buck igniters look as if they are quite delicate, not sure because of this they are rare to get hold of.

Wow! gents!,
An avalanche of answers and i thank you.

I have to nip out for an hour then i will jump back in here.

again cheers
