Hello everyone, I know this is not ordnance related but responses on the Almelo subject has been most interesting. The medals here are WW1 pair to George Thomas Angier RASC inc cap badge, WW2 group of four to Eric Angier who died on VE Day 1945 at Amelo Holland and is buried there, his cap badge is also pictured. Lastly Erics sister Leading Aircraftwoman Edna Patricia Angier WRAF General Service Medal with clasp " MALAYA" and seperate tunic ribbon bar. I will have to get this little lot framed properly for display. Ive allways treasured them and put them on ebay in what must have been a moment of madness! Glad no bids were placed and im sure weve all done similar with our collectables. Regards, Tim.

Have you managed to find out any more information on your dispatch rider and how he was killed in action?
Have you any contacts with relatives,as i'm sure they would want to know more r could shed light maybe?

Almelo Medal Group.

Hello there, Sadly the trail has ran out with net resources. I think next port of call should be the RCS Museum as they may have a unit diary which may give some idea as to how Eric died. I was able to locate former address of his sister Edna via the RAF PMA, but the address was from the 1950's and as i had no relpy she must have moved elsewhere. The address was not given to me but my letter was forwarded by the RAF PMA on my behalf. She may still be in Catford area and probably married so an appeal through the letters page of the Catford local rag should turn up something. i will let you know what happens as it should be interesting. Thanks again and regards, Tim.

Hi again,
I have still been desperately trying to trace these medals, unfortunately without success. These medals, belonged to my Grandfather, Uncle and Aunt. They were stolen from my Aunt's bungalow and have obviously been sold to a dealer etc. If anyone could please give me any information about them, i would be very grateful. Since these medals were stolen, my Aunt has died, so i am the only surviving male relative and my Aunt had three Daughters.

The return of these medals would mean a great deal to us. So if the original OP to this thread is still a member here, or if anyone has any contact with him, please let me know, i am prepared to buy them back, for whatever price the dealer paid for them. No further action would be taken.

Many thanks any information would be much appreciated
