WW1 10pdr shell

Does anyone have information on the British 10pdr shrapnel shell circa WW1 date ?
I have not seen one before are they rare ?

Hogg's book on WWI guns refers to the 10pr mountain gun circa 1903 using shrapnel shell. what info are you looking for?

Thanks for the info. I know they were used in the opening stages of ww1 then replaced by the 13 &18 pdr.
Are they rare items ?

Hi,
Have a look at this link , left hand shell is a 10 pr, also I have a 1902 and a 1904 handbook for it if you need any more info.

Many thanks for the pics. Do you know if it was ever fitted with a later type time train fuze around 1914/15 ?

Hello, I have only ever seen 3 of these shell and they all had the 56 types of fuse in them and my handbooks are too early for the later number 80 type fuse, sorry

Thanks for the info. Like you I have only seen them with a type 56. I have been offered one that has the latter type 80 but debating if it is genuine. Cheers
