WW 2 propaganda ammo

Endel

Well-Known Member
Hi all,

I have got one new set in my collection, one 105 mm german propaganda shell with the original leaflets. Black marking on the shell "XVI". I bought one set of leaflets at first from the ebuy and just in case asked about the shell and finally some days ago i got all parts.

The propaganda ammunition is like a subcategory in my collection, nice and interesting section anyway.

Regards
E

Endel,

Very good. Thanks for the pictures. You said propaganda devices are a subcategory of your collection. It is the primary focus of mine. Besides the Weiss-Rot Geschoss, may I ask what other propaganda devices you have? I have a 105mm that I can't decide whether to restore or leave as is (much like yours). What are you going to do?

Hi.

This showed device is conservated and i leave it. As I have said in other thread, if there are some peace of original paint i leave it these condition that it is, only remove the rust with acid and then laying the surface with the rust protecting solution. Usually I dont repaint that items, because old finish have a warmer effect. So, if its in same condition, just leave as is.

And here is another version of 105 mm Weiss-Rot Geschoss, a little bit different way of paggage, leaflets are folded.

Do you have any pictures or a description of the fuze you are looking for? I have a Russian fuze but i'm not sure if it is the type you are looking for.

Finnish manual from 1944 describes this fuze for Russian 82mm propaganda shells. However the manual does not describe exactly the same propaganda shell as yours, but 2 different ones; one very long with double tail and a shorter one with folding additional tail vanes.
