It is complete as far as I can tell, disassembles nicely, all bits and pieces in the fuze, has traces of red paint on the fore body with a pink stripe around the middle.Only marking besides the paint is a B cast into the grenade body.Rod is a copper/copper alloy, body cast steel, the fuze is of brass with steel parts.
Ok,thanks to you wise grenade guys.I kind thought it was as you all described.I woulda gone with french though, there seems to be french stuff all over the place here. But any way, thanks again.

And,yes I do plan to get rid of it.Im a shell and fuze collector and rifle grenades dont fit.So what I would like to ask you all firstly is for a good even trade, with minimal cash value difference.I have a little holy grail list.
1.Ive been searchin for a WWII German 4cm bofors.Complete round w/orig paint.
2.I need a bomb fuze for an empty canister I have,Fuze,bomb,tail,AN-M10A2 w/arming vane dated 42 or 43.
3.Lastly,Id be willing to trade for fuzes, thats fuzes WWII German and U.S. Whole complete in good shape with all parts 20mm all the way on up.
I have no problem shipping to the U.K. or to someone here in the states. The grenade IS FFE inert and as I said can be torn all the way down. And to ease souls,Im going to give someone a week or two to offer a good trade. After that Im gonna take cash offers or put it in the classifieds here on B.O.C.N. Thats right, not on ebay or egun or specialistauction,Im gonna keep it right here for the grenade lovers! For pics and other communications,my e-mail address is mstng12lou@yahoo.com

Thanks again,,,,

Lou

definately the 1ww british No39 grenade. (often called the Stuart Grenade)and in this condition i would say a value of 300 +.
very rare and very nice. :tinysmile_grin_t:

Well done a really nice find that one, now why do i never find such things in junk shops....
Best Weasel.

Hmm

You know what?Ive just started asking, plain as that.No matter what the store theme is,toy or antique store, swap meets, auctions I just ask. Of course theres that rejection rate, and sometimes some funny looks but its worth it in the end.
