The good,the bad,and the ugly........

So Im cruising the stalls at a militaria swap,I spy a box under a table and ask permission to dig,I get the thumbs up and as Im digging through a box of what looks to be general junk,this catches my eye. Imagine my excitment,time begins to slow,competitors all around me, I snatch the piece and gladly lay down my 5 dollar bill,,,,,,,,,,,,But,,,,

So Im walking away from the booth I got it at,opened my hand to look at it,and BLEH!!!!
Well least it was only a fiver. And the fuze is untouched. I believe its Italian, 25mm WW1. Head stamped with an MB 1- and a small circle with an 85 or SB in it. The projectile is marked on the bottom MARZOLI. I did spoy what looked like a little crown similar to what a Becker would have. I couldnt believe someone would drill the s*** out of it like that....

I always try to look under sellers' tables from the aisle behind them at shows.
I've seen some good stuff from there, but never a piece of "Swiss arty."

I have looked at the photos and cannot see the problem? For $5, it is a steal as far as I can see.I paid a lot more 8 years ago for this little jewel.

Ah, missed the second post. Condolences. the fuze on this is a real nice example of the craftsmanship of the era. Well worth the $5 alone. And these things are quite scarce, even it Italy.
