Vault 2

Thanks again Dave,
Lots of random stuff in this vault, all WWI or earlier. In boxes on the top shelf are 37mm rounds and 1pr's ( at last count 125 or so) Below that are other boxes with Brit 2pr AA rounds (Although I collect 1880's through WWI, there are quite a few of these that sneak into WWII) Another box contains 47mm rounds, French, US, Austrian, Italian) There are lots of fuzes in here also, boxes in fact, some stokes mortar rounds, some Italian 100mm rounds, etc etc. On the right, the larger rounds, difficult to see, but lots of neat stuff here. Two Austrian Naval 66mm rounds, a German WWI 105 Gun Shrapnel round (painted light blue with a white band). To the left of that one are two WWI German Flak 17 88 mm HE rounds with time fuzes. One is dated 1917, the other is 1918, both with traces only of the original yellow paint, and again as in Vault I, all are unfired and inert. In the front you can see some aircraft drop bombs and a couple large trench mortar rounds....

Hi Frizzen,
Thank you for taking the time to photograph and share your collection with us, it would seem to be a very comprehensivly put together and stored one. I would really like to see some pictures of the British 2pr rounds you have hidden in the box there if you can find time to photoghraph them.
Best regards Weasel.

Wow, what can i say. That is a truly phenomenal line up of rounds, i can only dream of getting a line up like that with so much original paint. It must have taken a lot of time and effort to put such a collection together, thank you very much for taking the time to photograph it and to share it.
Best regards Weasel.

that certainley is a cracking collection and exellent condition thanx for sharing

regards lee

Brilliant selection of 2 Pounders. We struggle to find even the unfired projectiles here in the UK.

Falcon,

It's no wonder you can't find projos over there, Frizzen seems to have them all!

Frizzen, nice collection.

Vault 2

Well, I certainly don't have them all, but have been lucky over the years to pick up so many in nice condition. The one on the far left of the first photo has every component marked May of 1915. Primer, headstamp, projectile, base fuze and nose fuze. It still has the white stencilling over the black paint. The last two on the right in the last photo are Japanese, one with a brass fuze and the other with the brass and aluminum. Thanks to SG500, Mr Dave for posting these and all the other photos on BOCN for me. I am still having the devil of a time figuring a way to make my machine do this...........

Vault 2

Whoops, my mistake, the one with all of the components marked May of 1915 in the second from the left in the first photo. The one on the far left has the odd style time fuze..................
