The M19 and M19B1 cases were used for a variety of rounds. The B1 designation on cases means that the case was made of steel instead of brass. The only way you could tell which guns it was loaded for, would have been the ink writing on the headstamp, but that was all removed when the lacquer was removed.

Thanks Hazord , still a bit of usefull info . Primer has been removed so no info there .
Kinda knew this would be hard one with the lack of headstamp markings .
Cheers Ken

If you look very carefully on the headstamp, you might be able to find the year it was made. It would normally be stamped there. The M-19B1 was used for the M71/M71A1 HE/HE-T for tank and antiaircraft use. It was also used on the M313 WP projectile for artillery and tank use., and lastly used for the M77 AP-T, M318 AP-T, and M332A1 HVAP for armor piercing applications.
