Asking the experts...

A little while ago I was given the following projectile.
After a little cleaning, I found a few marks on the bottom, including a "C Broad Arrow" and a few inspection marks.

Here are a few details...
Weight: 2.832kg / 6lb. 3 7/8 oz.
Overall Diameter: 56.4mm 2 / 13/64in.
Overall Height: 171.2mm / 6.75in.
Driving Band Width: 19.86mm / 0.782in.
Base to Bottom of Driving Band: 52.08mm / 0.987in.

I'm thinking (OK, hoping) that it's WW2 but I thought I would ask the experts before jumping to conclusions.

Cheers!

It would be the Canadian manufactured Armor Piercing SHOT Tracer projectile M70 for the U.S. or U.K. 57mm Antitank gun which is the same as the U.K. 6 Pdr 7 Cwt. Antitank Gun. It would go in the M23 Brass case or M23B1 steel case. Yes, it is WWII vintage.

Would this be the correct paint scheme?

I'm not an expert on U.K. painting rules. I'm thinking the U.K. experts can confirm.

Many thanks Spotter & exat808!
Very much appreciated.

I'll post photos of the finished round when it's complete.

Cheers,
Brad

OK Gents, the restoration is done.
Here's a before & after photo for comparison.

What do you think?

Canadian manufactured Armor Piercing Shot Tracer projectile (M70 or 6 Pdr 7 Cwt.).

Has anyone mentioned the British purser's broad arrow?
John

Thanks Don.
Getting the banding straight was a real pain in the arse.
...I think it turned out OK in the end

Cheers,
Brad
