With the grenades now out in the Bombatorium, it's now time to try and get some unknowns identified. Any help is appreciated. The round grenade is a third smaller than an M67, has a pressed-in, threaded copper fuze well/liner like an M26, but a round hole in the base like a practice. In the last picture the grenade is sitting on a plastic ring for balance, the stick is hollow for a pull-string.

Some more, mostly practice sticks that I do not know the country of origin.

Nobody? Nothing? Here are a few more.

The first is a large bodied throwing practice, the second is a plastic body. The third is thin sheet metal, the last one appears to be fairly early, it has a large end plug that unscrews, and a silver center plug inside of that, with a screwdriver slot. The end plug appears to be for filling, the silver plug is nearly rod size - just a touch larger. The bottom is rounded, no idea what sort of fuze it takes.

Those practices sticks can be from any country, not only for war, but even for sport. And think that due to your job you will have items that maybe nobody have seen before.

I have some interesting pieces, but I didn't build them, and I got them from other places and people that had them before me. I'm also sure that more than one of each was created, documents were written and someone knows.....

Some people have studied this aspect of ordnance their entire lives and have highly specialized libraries - have you ever seen or heard of the collection held by a grenade lover in Geneva (wrote the book on Italian grenades)? He has a separate apartment - only for his grenades. Well over 1000 when I visited in 1999. I hope he is still collecting and cannot imagine what the collection may look like now. I'm only a student in this area, I'm sure some of our specialists have the information -

Im agree with you, but it is not the same collect from shows or friends, than to have access to "forbidden places", you know what I mean? Some of my Italian WWII mint grenades came from one of those forbidden places because I had a contact there, have in mind that you will not get to ID all your unknown grenades. About the Italian collector I believe I know him and even I have sold him some items, our world is, in fact, very small.

I got this grenade in Germany, from the former East (DDR). Anybody have any information or documentation? Thanks in advance.

Two rifle grenades, don't know if I've posted them before or not. Both are believed to be US, the silver one is stamped "RG 1955" the steel one is unmarked. Any info is welcome.

I had about a half page of sketchy info on this grenade at one time, but cannot currently locate it (library is still not sorted). As I recall it was identified as an early rodded grenade from Spain - Miguel? Anyone?

Hello
This grenade is known in Spain as "Comision de Experiencias" and was used in the 20's during the colonial war with Morocco. In 1930 the Spanish army adopts the 50-mm mortars "Valero" model in replacement of these rifle grenades.

Some of these are also used in the Spanish Civil War.

Best Regards
