Unknown bakerlite caps ???

Hi all,these came from one of my mudlarking,episodes.
Are they ordnance or not as i havnt a clue.

Hi no I don't mind you correcting my spelling,but realy need to find out what they are,so any positive input is most welcome
 
They look like insulators for electric cable, hence the slit in the male threaded part and the hole at the front with the cap screwed down. What does the bottom look like?

Hi they are slightly conical,with a hole going through the centre,and very thick walled and can visualise cables fitting
Through.
 
im thinking some thing electrical same as BMG, electric fence or communication wires like the larger electric insulators,,,,,, Dave
 
I think its a cable or wire joiner - possibly phone wires. You strip the insulation off the wire, lay the two bare ends in the groove and screw the cap down tight to make the join.
