Unknown 37 mm case and projectile

Today I found these 2 items together, but I am not sure they fit together. The projectile looks comparable to early Maxim Nordenfelt 1.5 inch (Mellichamp book Volume 1). The case? I can not find anything close to it. Both have no markings. The case might be not finished, based on the primer hole, and the case has not been fired. The items were found in France.

Some measurements:

Case: 36.2x150.2R48.9

Projectile: 115.5 mm high without fuze and 120 mm with fuze

Does anybody recognize any of the items?

You have an intriguing mystery here. The closest case length is a Swedish case, but it this about 3mm longer and the profile is fatter. The general profile makes one think of a 40mm Boffors case. It looks like some one has been messing with the primer pocket and has removed material from the inside. The projectile is not like any Swedish I have seen, but looks more like early German types. The absence of any markings may indicate that this was an experimental round that never got into production. Hopefully, some one out there has some accurate information about thist han my guesses and hunches.

What does the base of the projectile look like. What I'm wondering, is that a fuze or a plug? Cheers, Bruce.

The projectile reminds me of something I have seen, in a picture of some projectiles, but I didn't know what it was, but was possibly German but of uncertain origin - might have been something from the 1890s, commercial-trial? I have no idea about the case.

Some more guesses. The case has some remblance to the Schnieder-Canet M1894 37mm, but is is shorter. No illustration of the projectile. The projectile could be for the shorter S-C 130mmR case, but again no illustrations. Are there any crimps on the caase? what kind, if so? The projectile looks sort of like 1890's Grusom. The case has a Nordenfelt look to it, and they were often unmarked.Oh, for a magic, crystal ball!

Interesting....it is found more often, but without clear identification. It is surely not the Swedish case that is mentioned; I have 2 versions in my collection and they are clearly different.

The case has no crimp. Not sure if it is a plug or a fuze. There are some remnants that may indicate a fuze function. In the projectile I can see some green-blueish particles.
