Unidentified ww2 naval shell

I have a shell I cant identify. It is from a ship in world war 2.
It is 4 inches in diameter at the top

The writing on the base is
3G (in a triangle)

The writing on the detonator is
ENFT 1942

No 14

Yes it is a case for the Mk XVI gun and the modified MkXVI as indicated by the * next the mk no. Primer appears to be an electric one.

Must point out that the item you have is the case and the shell is the bit that fits in the end and is fired toward the target. 2pr

4 inch Mk XVI & XVI* naval cartridge case

Here is one I have, similar to yours. I also came to the conclusion that the No 14 is an electric primer, indicated by the ring of insulating black material just outside the centre, similar to the L10 primer.
