I picked up this ID plate for an 18 Pr. Does anyone know the maker ? And where this would be attached.
The Ross bayonet is nicely marked to a Garrison Artillery unit, can't keep it all so that is on ebay under "fairweasel37"
A German gasmask also on ebay. A Panoramic photo or WW1 Artillery types in Kingston Ontario showing 2 18Prs, 1 12 Pr etc. I'll
take that to the next military show here in a couple of weeks. Also a few Sterio cards, one has a nice 3 Pr on it, the others A German
MG08 on it's proper cart, the image is well known but the sharpness of the original card is very good compared to book images.
Also an 1897 shooting trophy, cheap buggers it's only plate !

Maybe William Beardmore & Company, Glasgow ? I think they made Naval artillery but one factory made smaller artillery there, Dalmuir.

I think you are right, they are mentioned elsewhere. I wonder if the gun number can be traced.

You probably already found it ,but just in case you have not ,the 18pr plate is from the carriage and is located on the left side of the carriage in front of the layer

Thanks, no I hadn't got that far ! One might think given the number of guns made that there would be a few of these plates around, but this is the first one I have ever seen loose and I started collecting ww1 stuff at the age of 14, 48 years ago !
