This sums it up...

In a recent email from member Steve aka "Kilroy was Here" we'd struck a deal then continued the conversation. You know how it is. What do you collect? And so on. The following is a quote from our conversation that sums up our problem. For me anyways.

"For me the biggest thrill is the hunt, then the deal, then waiting for it to arrive. When it arrives finally, you are very, very content and happy .................. for about an hour. Then the whole process starts again.....and again.....etc."

My name is John.
I am an ordnance addict.

Well, actually, not quite for me as ime never actually hunting for the stuff these days.
If it turns up, all well and good but ime afraid the days of raging 'must have' are long gone.
I like to collect, yes, but ime only after one type of item, namely Mills grens but do like WW1 and WW2 uniform etc.

However, these days, its financial constraints that slow me down. With unlimited funds, it might be another thing, ive always had a hankering for a WW1 VC.

As Mr. Spock once said in a STAR TREK episode...

"To want something is sometimes more rewarding then having, it's not logical but it is often true"

Too much is never enough

I can say I am about as guilty as the next guy when it comes to this, although I take many times a hold a piece that is special to me in one way or another, recall the circumstances surrounding how I got it and even picture its use in the war. But the next piece can never come too soon. It is very special yo me when I finally get a piece I have been after for some time and I will move on to the next piece but never lose appreciation of these acquisitions...Dano

Oh Green, I know exactly where you are coming from. I have available to me now 3 really good WW1 German pieces at shall we say full boat retail, and I want them and I have the money. Trouble is I have never spent this much on ordnance at one time. Not a wife thing because she lets me do what I want. I really want this stuff (stuff I have never before had) but suffer some sort of internal conflict. I think maybe I should buy one item, but would have trouble deciding which. I think I may get all three. I guess being a family man I am feared if I spend the cash one of the kids may get in trouble or need something. Please somebody guide me on this one...Dano
