The grenade - the seller - paypal

This is a story that just must be read, especially if you are or ever have been the least bit cynical about the wiles of the world. I'll not mention the name of the grenade, the seller or his/hers moniker but just provide a few details because this centers on the story and the seller knows whom he/she is. Perhaps a detective or ameteur sleuth may figure it out anyway but I would ask that they not tell their findings. To start I posted a thread about a particular grenade that was for sale in Europe on one of the, uh well let's say sites. I was asking if it were a legit piece. Well the seller PM's me (until then I did not know that he/she was a BOCN member) and states that he/she does not usually solicit business but he did have another that I could have for a certain amount with free shipping. Well I PM'ed him back and asked him his paypal ID so I could pay for the piece. He replies NO, let me send it to you and look it over and if you like it then pay me. Now this guy/gal did not know me from Adam as I had no other transactions with him/her. About 3 months later I receive the piece and love it. I PM'ed him/her back again asking for paypal ID so I could get him/her paid. Well when I tried to paypal for the item, paypal informed me I was suspended for buying dangerous items etc..etc.. Well I PM'ed him/her back asking for mailing address so I could send an international money order. I got the address and went to the post office and they informed me that an international postal money order would not work in the European country I wanted to send it to. Well by now I am "flipping out". I want to get this man/woman paid but was geting thin on options. I went to the Yahoo GBP to USD conversion chart and the US dollar amount converted to 73.00. I PM'ed him/her back and let them know i'd be sending cash and if they would please let me know when it arrives because for obvious reasons I hate sending cash in the mail. I sent 80.00 US cash (trying to at least help seller with shipping) and got a PM about a week later letting me know that he/she had got the cash safely. These acts of kindness on the part of the seller will never be forgotton. I am as guilty as the next when it comes to being cynical from time to time, but this man/woman totally restored my faith in the human race. End of story....Dano

Nice one mate glad it all worked out ok for you and the seller.

quick tip regarding sending paypal payments.
If you have there paypal address just log into paypal site, click the send money option, put the sellers paypal address in the box and fill in the amount of money you require sending, then in the box where it asks for what the payments for.
Just click other goods option then in the box just type some crap like money for item sent etc then click send.
I do that for pretty much everything I buy ordnance wise with paypal, never been pulled once as ordnance related words are never used in the payment there for no keywords are flagged up by paypal.
If you are buying something from say specialist or eBay it will give the sellers paypal address anyway so just copy it down and don't follow the prompts from the site just send it manually like above will go through fine cheers.

Forgot to add I then just contact the seller telling them payment is sent along with what my item was and what the payment amount for it was along with my paypal address so they know the payments from me etc and there's no cock up with my order.
