The botany of desire (2009)

A documentary about plants https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1421383/, may sound boring but it ain't, 4 separate historic parts about tulips, apples, potatoes and weed (marijuana). I knew a lot of described events and info, but some, like the origins of apples, came as a surprise to me. Just seeing a Dutch flower exchange in action alone is worth watching this special.

Dutch bulb markets are simply amazing.

My father spent his whole life working in a London wholesale fruit and vegetable market (apart from 5 years for WW2) . He could identify over 60 types of English Apple, some down to naming the farm they came from. Sadly such knowledge is no more...
