Question ...

I have 2 booby traps / Switches

No.5 Pressure and a No. 6 Pressure-release. Initially I thought they were british, but looking further they have the LOT Code SPE. Am I right in thinking they are Portugeese?

I have attached images for you to look at as well.

Hi Jvollenberg

Yes - You are right that these were made in Portugal, SPE stands for Societe Portugues Explosivos. A lot of these switches came out of Iraq - I have a box of M1 Pull Igniter copies that were gathered up in the 1st Gulf war, Portugese manufacture for Iraq. Pictured on The Grenade Recognition Manual Website for an additional reference.

Hope this helps

Cheers
