Strange German Wooden Mine

I found this photo somewhere, might have even been in this form. It is said to be a type of German mine used on the Channel Islands. This one was made up from drawing, as a original could not be found. It looks like you would have to step on the piece of wood sticking out of the top, which would then push down on the bar inside which would lift the fuze. It looks like a ZZ35 fuse, but the wood bar seems to be attached to the safety pin of the fuse. I don't know how this would set it off. I see there is a block to keep the explosive block from raising up. Any ideas on this?

I'm glad you made this post. I saw this on this site a while back, and I had the same question about it. It doesn't look like it could function the way it is set up, but maybe there's something about it we can't see. I thought it would be fun and fairly easy to make a reproduction of it, but there's not much point without resolving this question. It would be great to see the drawings this repro was made from.

If you remove the Safety Pin of a ZZ35 and then insert it in the Pull-Wire-Hole it will look just as in the above foto and it for shure will work.
Bellifortis.

I have scaled up the photo, to match size of ZZ35 fuse, and it is not a small box. About 6 3/4" Wide by 8" tall, not including the wooden piece that sticks out of top. I guess this is the part you are to step on or depress someway. The width would have to be at least 3 to 4 inches, to hold the explosive block shown. Most of the wooden mines are a lot smaller the this one. It would take a deep hole to bury it in.
