Hello I found this metal detecting a old military training area it was about 8" deep. It has a blind hole in the top about 7/8" a spike on one end and a half round top on the other was wondering if you guys could help. I have put it bext to a 303 cart that I found for size reference.

looks very much like part of the hinge from an old farm gate ,the spike been driven into a wood or stone post,,if you google hammer in gate pintle or spike hinge you will find variations of them ,i would assume they were made by local blacksmiths etc so designs will be different
