Thats a very nice Tree Spigot Mortar round. Is that yours? My intention is to build a replica of the mortar so would be interested in some dimensions. The fuze was very similar to the No.10 Time pencil but without the snout. Even used the same tin. The pictures of the originals are not mine, I got them saved in the computer from the internet. The rest is from The British spy manual by IWM. If you ever consider selling it, I would be interested.

There are drawings of such switches and one of the spring snout which i think match fuze is attached to or a detonator.

Would love the workshop drawings for the standard spigot mortar that fits on the concrete pedistal.

My understanding is that the time pencil was for launching the projectile at a certain time, Bens question is what type of fuse is in the projectile.

Reading the question again, you are right Millsbomber, so this is the fuze that should go into the bomb.

Thanks. Before you place it in the museum could you take some basic measurements of the large parts of the round like the lenght, diameter of the head and tube etc? I would really apreciate that. Would scale the rest by myself.
