small AP mine

hello everyone, I do not collect mines to much, but I saw what I think was a small anti-personnel mine at a army surplus store. (lots of nice shells and rockets and such, VERY pricey though) It was reasonably priced and I was wondering if anyone could show me some pictures of AP mines, as I did not get a picture of it. it was a kinda flat base, then went up to a flat kind of cone. The bottom was dark blue, and the top cone dark green. the base was about 2 inches wide, and it was no higher than 1 1/2 inches. If anyone knows of some AP mines that kinda fit that description could post some photos, so I can figure out if it is a mine or not (cause im kinda interested in it ;) ) Thanks!
Rhys

That's why they put cameras on cell phones. There are around 600 models of mines currently in use. Maybe if you went out on the net and checked landmine sites. The AP mines are of the most concern, so there are a lot of sites that have photos.

Pictures always help but from what you describe and based on the location in your profile I would toss out a first guess that it was probably a C3 anti-personnel mine.

You got it Eodtek. And sorry Hazord, I dont have a cellphone :/ The mine at the store did not have the base, it was just the cone and base part, nothing else. Is 35$ a good price for one of em'?

That's not a bad price, but it's incomplete. Incomplete is better than nothing at all. Landmines are export banned (The Ottawa Accord) , so they are hard to get in any condition.

It might be a bit of a challenge here in Canada. I've yet to come across one on it's own in over 20 years of collecting militaria but of course I wasn't searching specifically for one. Maybe one of the forum members in the UK might have a spare.
