Bullet Mick

Well-Known Member
Hello i picked this up the other week thinking it was a .45acp but ive just compared it against one i already have and found it is bigger. Ive looked online and identified it as a Self loading .455 which im happy with as i dont have one. It is stamped R/l\L I 41 the qustion i have is when did these rounds become obsolete as i assumed they would no longer be manufactured in 1941. Cheers Mick.

The .455 inch Self Loading remained in service for most of WW2, mainly with Colt Government Model pistols used by the RAF.

The last date manufactured at Royal laboratory was I think 1943.
