Quite shure it's an Original mine. Normally they are painted either sandcolour, either feldgrau.
Copper cladding has been done after WW2, probably for decoration purposes.

They were done in a copper wash as I have had S mines with remains of this finish on them. Early S mines had parts that had a black finish on the parts and were then painted on top.The one you have is in remarkable condition.
A close up of the base of the pot and the markings would be nice to see.

Try not to photbucket as the pictures get wiped in years to come and they can't be used for future reference, you just get a blank screen.

I've managed to get some pic's from the former ower, before and after, in my opinium, he was too motivated while cleaning:

I think he has done a good job, not sure if these copper washed mines were painted over from the factory but if not that's how they would have looked when they left the factory. Still using photo bucket again, a shame as the picture won't be there in a few years time for future reference, as photobucket picture's get wiped.

Yes, the copper finish is original and it would have been painted over the copper. Vickers, I agree that the seller went overboard with the cleaning. I like the uncleaned look.

Just to note, some of the early S mines had blues and blacked metals parts before they were painted at the factory.
