Ron Bridges - Funeral

I learned today that Ron Bridges will be cremated on Thursday 8th March.

Unfortunately, his relatives in Canada have decided that there should be no funeral service or other memorial which I personally find deeply distressing, having known him over forty years. However, having met with the solicitor today it seems there is little that can be done and so I am asking all who knew him to pause at noon on Thursday and think of him.

I am hopeful that much of his research material can be saved and I will keep everyone informed.

Tony . That is indeed very sad . I assume the family had their reasons for that decision . Ron will be sadly missed & I hope those of us that remember him so fondly will indeed pause for our own thoughts at noon on Thursday . Thankyou for this update . Mike

I have just had another chat with the solicitor and there will now be a very brief committal at 9.30am tomorrow morning.

As it is such short notice I will attend on behalf of all BOCN pals.
