Found this at a show this weekend, being offered as an "exotic". I recognized it for what it was but at $5.00 couldn't resist. We had a thread on these a year or so ago, but I cannot find it. I don't remember what we called them, rock bits, drill points, something of the sort. Anyway here is another variation.

At $5.00 it cost nothing.

Here is a link to an old thread Jeff, not sure it is the one you were looking for....?

thanks for showing, regards Kev

After it peeled the lands and grooves out of the barrel....

Hey Ordman,

Thats the same jackass that had the fake law rocket! I told you that guy combines the wrong stuff all the time.

I like the 40mm with AP penetrator that he shows. I guess that's why we have threads like this.

1 Pr Maxim Nordenfelt

He listed this, it's a bit rough but cheap if you have a fuze, A Maxim Nordenfelt 1 Pr.

The usual unmarked Brit case is proper.

I work with machinery that uses similar bits to this. One of the other guys actually said to me "that looks like one of your shells". I told him that these things are often actually mistaken for some sort of projectile.

I also once took a 6 Pounder APDS projectile into work to clean up the rusted base. One of the guys saw it on my bench after the cleaning and said "what's that? a new milling cutter?"
