Hello, i got this mine yesterday from a good source, but i am not sure with this one, i take the mine with me to Hessisch Oldendorf so that Peter can have a look at the mine, but perhaps somebody from BOCN can tell me what he thinks about itall other items i got from this man were always 100% original, but i am not sure and before i put it in the museum i must be sure, i do not want fake items. regards Ben

Ri.Mi. klein mod. / Ri.Mi. small modified ??

Indeed a funny item, this 'Riegel-Mine' and we had a sharp look on it (without dismantling of course).
Superficial regarded it seems well painted with proper stamps and a healthy corrosion.

But there are two logical errors, which prove that this item is not a true Riegel, not even a 'modified' one:

1.) The so called shear wires are going round the whole body and wrapped round the safety pins.

2.) The additional fuze threads are fitted on the outer side of the lid; first from the left is a plastic well (normally in use with the metal-free To.Mi), the others simple short thread-pieces.

That doesn't work!

Also very unusual the finish of the endpiece:

Therefore it was common opinion: this is definitely not a Riegel-Mine, but more a phantasy product.

@ stecol

The piece shown at the French forum is obviously a second one and presumably out of the same workshop.
The object shown on lexpev seems to be really a kind of halved Riegel, but for what purpose?
