Years ago, Granite City used to be a depot, and they had an EOD team there. I believe it was the 50th Ord Det (EOD).

The 50th left the Granite City Dept years ago. Interesting the recycling company that this accident happened at is just across the highway from the dept. But Granite was never an munitions type depot.

I stopped by the Granite City PD when this first happened, they were waiting for the IL Sec of State bomb squad to show up. Told them I;d take a look see if they wanted, but no go. The bomb squad showed up and automatically they started saying, I asked them how they knew that- all I got was smirks. Think the Scott AFB EOD team was finally called.
