Possible 30mm APDS

Hi All,
Does anybody know this APDS projectile?
The cutaway is not precisely in half, so the measurement is about 28mm. A bit too large for 27mm rounds, but not completely 30mm either. Sabot length is 116mm. There is a small cavity in the base of the core for a tracer. The rings are concentric and the tip of the core is plastic. The core is quite heavy, but I don't think it is heavy enough for tungsten.
Thanks,

I can't ID this one, but can say that is a super interesting sub-projectile design. Love it! Great find. I hope it gets properly ID'd.

I do believe that is one of the experimental designs for the 27x145b MGL-27 APDS ammunition. I’m fairly certain these cartridges have been posted on the BOCN before still crimped to their cases, but I am unable to find them. I remember them vividly due to the sabot design and hoped I could find one some day

If I remember correctly they used a modified 27x145b case that had a longer neck on the case than usual, or atleast some of the cartridges in the same series did. I’ll update this post if I can find the photos.

From the draggy external ribbed design (high excrescence drag), in that you say that it doesn't seem to be as dense as tungsten, and from looking at examples of 27 mm (27×145B) APDS, FAPDS, TPDS and TPFDS rounds (normally tracered), this would suggest it is the projectile for a TPDS round.

Is there are hole in the base of the sabot assembly, and a corresponding cavity in the rear of the subprojectile? If yes, then projectile for a TPDS-T tound.

Super interesting projectile for sure. I can't recall seeing any TPDS rounds with a black sabot. My memory sucks so I could be wrong.
