it was made by the german company "Rheinische Metallwaaren- und Maschinenfabrik" for Turkey. This one is for 8,7 cm guns.

Hello Alpini,

I need a clarification :
As this fuze has an "Erhardt" typical external shape I wonder what is the connection with Rheimetall ?

Regards

So obvious.
I never made the connection.
What is the correct spelling of the name because I found several in documentation.
Erhardt ? Ehrhardt ?

Regards

"Ehrhardt" is the correct name.

The fuzes are sometimes called "System Ehrhardt" but this isn't the full truth. H. Ehrhardt was the owner of the factory but did not invent this fuze by himself. The fuze was most probably invented by Georg Emil Fiedler.
