Ordnance Posters

Hi,

I know they can be difficult to display, but is anyone else interested in ordnance-related posters?

I bought a copy of the Abram Games "Don't Touch" poster which was re-published by World War II magazine in the 1970's for 40p...

... and I bought an original Australian version on eBay for much more!

Just in case someone doesn't have wall-space, I am looking for a replacement copy of the Abram Games poster and also looking for a British Training poster for the No. 80 grenade!

Nice posters Gary, I would love a copy or repro of the British "Do Not Touch" poster but cannot find one anywhere.

Nice original poster Gary, thanks for showing.
I collect SD2 butterfly bomb related ones, but original ones dont turn up too often

regards Kev

Hi Tony,

I think the Abram Games poster is brilliant - the warning "Do not touch it even with a stick and do not throw stones at it" should be displayed next to every inert ordnance collection!

If anyone with more commitment is interested, there is a web site dedicated to Abram Games posters which I think could make a limited print run of the poster.

www.abramgamesposters.com

I would certainly order one....

Thanks,

Gary

Thanks for the link Gary, had not seen it before. Funny how the do not touch poster is not on there, maybe worth asking to see if it can be reproduced, food for thought.

Sorry, I should be clear, I mean more commitment than me!

I have to admit, I started an e-mail exchange with the Abram Games poster store (and directly with Naomi Games) in 2011.

They were totally professional and positive about making a special print run and, I'm sorry to admit, I got distracted by work and didn't follow through.

Shame on me!

Hi,

Following on my question regarding ordnance posters, I've contacted the Abram Games poster store and asked them the cost of re-printing the "Danger, Don't Touch" poster. I'll post details as soon as I have them and anyone interested can order direct from the web-site.

I've also added a photo of a first world war poster, warning French school children not to touch shell fuzes. Sorry, I don't know why the image is upside down!!

The following are examples of British training posters:

As already mentioned, I'm looking for a similar poster for the No. 80 grenade.

Cheers,

Gary
