In your first serie of beautiful pictures, the pic No 4 of the french Nieuport let see the mark of the WW I hero, Lt Charles Nungesser :

The same mark was visible on the airplane, l'oiseau blanc, with wich he tried to cross over north atlantic with his pilot Coli.
