Not marked 20mm cartridge

You are right, the M56 was the cartridge designation I had somewhere. The case is the M103 of course.
 
To add a bit more info: The M55 was the "ball" (practice) loading of this ammo, the M56 was the standard HEI, the M51 was a dummy, the M53 was an API.

The M50 series was replaced in USAF service from the late 1980s by the PGU-28 SAPHEI and similar ammo, which have more aerodynamically shaped projectiles (the PGU-28 being a Nammo Raufoss Multipurpose type). These still use the M103 case, as do the APDS series for the Phalanx naval CIWS.
 
I,ve a band with 30 of this cartridge,s en they have a print on the site of the cartridge. posible the code is DM1001 A1 LOS NWM3-392- but I.m not sure,
