Nose cone ID help please!

Well-Known Member
I've had this for a few months and don't know what it's for!
A few ideas were mentioned when I bought it,but nothing definate.

Does anyone know what it was used with please?
It's alloy and measures 185mm tall and the diameter at the base is 55mm.

There are no markings anywhere on the item.

All help appreciated!

Cheers,
Andy

I wonder ?

I am wondering whether or not it is a nose cone for a 68mm SNEB rocket as these often had screwed in nose caps?
When you say 55 mm diameter are you referring to the thread diameter or the body just above the thread ???

If it is the thread then my money would be on it being a SNEB nose possibly from a practice round that never got painted.

Pictured is the HE version of the SNEB with the flat tip (this being the final design) with the earlier practice models having a slightly more pointed nose similar to yours.

Cannot attach picture oh f$^%"it:frown:
Will try another post !
Seem to have lost the ability to post pictures-sorry.

68 mm SNEB Rocket nose cone.

Hi Andy found out what I must have done and can now post pictures again:wink:

Here is the picture of the later dated SNEB rocket 68 mm Calibre
Nose is flat but I am fairly certain that the earlier models were pointed just like your nosecap.

Could you measure the actual diameter at its widest point as that would confirm one way or the other.
